Job summary

Exelon is seeking an experienced cost estimator to develop detailed Phase 1–3 project cost estimates for Substation, Transmission, Distribution and Gas projects. You will model and forecast, update estimates, and provide analytical support to drive accurate baselines and budgets.

You will partner with Project Managers and field teams, facilitate estimate challenges, and maintain cost databases to improve estimation accuracy. Strong Excel and estimating tool skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Financial or Technical Field.
• 4-7 years relevant experience, or 6-9 years with no degree.
• Ability to build estimates from project diagrams, design or scope.
• Interface with all levels of management.
• Facilitate project meetings to develop estimates with stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of electric and gas utility operations.
• Produce detailed estimates with +/-10% accuracy for phase 3.
• Create project estimates up to $300 million.
• Walk downs completed prior to estimate.
• Proficient software: Excel, InEight EU Estimating Tool, Asset Suite 8, SAP.

Responsibilities

• Develop Phase 1–3 project cost estimates in WBS format with clear assumptions.
• Model, forecast, analyze variance; track KPIs and cost data.
• Develop unit costs and parametric estimate ranges for standard work.
• Update estimates with current docs and prepare reports for operations.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure estimates are understood and challenged.
• Prepare for contractor estimate/bid challenges with side-by-side analyses.
