Job summary

Exelon is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare bottoms-up cost estimates for Substation, Transmission, Distribution and Gas projects. The role involves field reviews, detailed documentation, and continuous improvement of estimating methods to support long-range planning.

You will model costs, analyze variances, work with project managers, and participate in challenge meetings with stakeholders. This is an on-site role based in Illinois, with potential extended hours during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or technical field.
• 2–4 years estimating or equivalent experience.
• Ability to develop high-level or detailed project estimates from diagrams/scope.
• Strong communication and stakeholder facilitation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop Phase 1–3 estimates in WBS format with required assumptions.
• Model, forecast, analyze variances and track KPIs.
• Maintain unit costs and update parameter values.
• Prepare phase approvals with supporting documentation.
• Support project managers and participate in estimate challenges.
• Coordinate with contractors for bid comparisons and lessons learned.
