Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a senior Project Controls Advisor to lead cost control, planning, and estimating for capital projects in Carlsbad, NM, with a travel component to Odessa, TX. The role supports project teams, ensures adherence to PM processes, and mentors junior staff.

The candidate will develop project controls plans, manage Class 3 estimates, and contribute to cost forecasting and contract administration. Strong leadership and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong background in Project Services, Project Controls, Cost Control, Planning, and Scheduling.
• ExxonMobil experience preferred, especially downstream projects.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Knowledge of project management frameworks and best practices.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and teamwork skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and provide consultative support.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate project cost control activities in line with policies and objectives.
• Develop, implement, and maintain project controls systems for effective execution and contracting strategies.
• Support contract administration and monitor project performance through the lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain Project Controls Plans for capital projects.
• Oversee the development of Class 3 cost estimates and forecast support.
• Prepare Appropriation Request packages and decision support documentation.
• Provide project controls guidance to teams and stakeholders.
• Support process improvement and tool development initiatives.
• Train and mentor project controls personnel.
• Collaborate with management, engineering, procurement, construction, and operations to meet objectives.
