Brooksource is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Controls Advisor (Primavera P6) for a remote, two-week engagement. The candidate will advise on structuring a P6 managed scheduling service, define level of effort, and help price the service across volume bands.

The role may extend to a longer advisory or service lead depending on the proposal outcome. Required is hands-on P6 EPPM administration, construction scheduling experience, and proven ability to size a scheduling team.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or managing a scheduling or project controls function.
• Hands-on experience with P6 EPPM administration (baseline services, Global Changes, data-quality and schedule-health).
• Strong construction project scheduling experience across the capital project lifecycle.
• Experience scoping or sizing a scheduling team or service, including staffing ratios and throughput.
• Experience with SLA-driven managed services or outsourced scheduling.

Responsibilities

Brooksource is preparing a proposal for an outsourced scheduling managed service supporting a utility transmission project management office. The portfolio is large, with hundreds of active schedules in Primavera P6 and growing demand from large-load and data center-driven projects.

We’re looking for a seasoned scheduling and project controls leader to advise on the proposal. You’ll help us define the service model, size the level of effort, and structure our pricing. The turnaround is short, and there may be a longer-term advisory or service lead role if we win.

What You’ll Do

• Advise on how a P6 managed scheduling service should be structured, including roles, team makeup, supervision, and a dedicated P6 administration function.
• Help define level of effort and build pricing across volume bands. This includes how many schedules a senior scheduler can realistically maintain, scheduler-to-lead ratios, and throughput for a high-frequency progress cycle.
• Advise on complexity tiering (simple, moderate, complex) and which services belong in a fixed monthly fee versus unit or hourly rates.
• Help structure labor categories and hourly rates, mobilization and transition pricing, and surge, escalation, and after-hours terms.
• Advise on first-line quality control and QA, and how to realistically meet SLAs such as on-time delivery and first-pass acceptance.
• Identify which tasks are labor-intensive and which can be automated, and review proposed automation or AI use.
• Review our proposal, assumptions, and exclusions against industry standards and flag risks.

Required Qualifications

• Experience leading or managing a scheduling or project controls function. Examples include Program Controls Manager, Director of Project Controls, Scheduling Manager, PMO Director overseeing P6 environments, or Oracle Primavera consultant.
• Hands-on experience with P6 EPPM administration, such as baseline services, Global Changes, and data-quality and schedule-health processes.
• Strong construction project experience, with an emphasis on scheduling rather than project management alone.
• Experience scheduling across the capital project lifecycle (design, procurement, permitting and right-of-way, outages, construction, closeout).
• Experience scoping or sizing a scheduling team or service, including staffing ratios, throughput, and QA.
• Experience with SLA-driven managed services or outsourced scheduling, or with running a production-style scheduling operation.
• Availability for quick-turn work, including early in the week of 10/26.

Preferred Qualifications

• Energy or utility construction experience, especially transmission or substation projects.
• Data center, large industrial, or manufacturing construction scheduling experience.
• Experience at a utility, EPC, or engineering and consulting firm.
• Experience with earned value reporting and portfolio-level schedule health dashboards.
• Experience applying automation or AI to schedule review under human-review controls.
• Experience building or advising on P6 training or career paths.
