Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager / Construction Manager for Public Works or DSA to be based in Los Angeles, CA. This on-site role leads complex construction programs, coordinates with multiple stakeholders, and manages staff across schedules, budgets, and quality control.

Ideal candidates will bring extensive experience in public works, contract administration, cost estimation, and scheduling, with a focus on delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget. Relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Seven years of professional experience managing the facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that includes the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities
• Five years of experience with general construction management work for public works projects
• In field management of General Contractors

Responsibilities

• Resolves complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements
• Reviews status and overall construction project progress relative to submitted construction schedules
• Reviews change orders from all construction projects and assesses their impact
• Assists Client management staff with bid and contract planning
• Assesses bid specifications according to Client needs and probability of completion under stated timeline
• Reviews status and monitors variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reporting
• Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple construction projects
• Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control
• Reviews and monitors overall administration of contracts for Architects and related consultants
• Coordinates program activities with other Client organizational branches and departments
• Reviews and takes recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projects
• Actively manages General Contractors in the field
• Project reporting
• Manage staff

Education

BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Seven years of professional experience managing facilities design and capital projects

Five years of general construction management experience on public works projects

Experience with in-field management of General Contractors
