Beyer Blinder Belle in Washington, DC seeks an experienced Project Architect to lead architectural and engineering teams through design phases, with a focus on a complex existing-building residential project. The role collaborates with project managers, partners, consultants, and clients to guide documentation, address regulatory and constructability challenges, and maintain design intent.

Qualifications

• Registered Architect required.
• 10+ years of professional architectural experience.
• At least five years on multifamily residential projects.
• Experience with renovation/rehabilitation of existing residential buildings.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of Washington, DC codes and permitting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office andAdobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural document production and coordination across all design phases.
• Develop comprehensive contract documents with drawings and specs.
• Evaluate existing building conditions and incorporate field observations into the design and delivery process.
• Coordinate internal project team and external consultants.
• Lead coordination meetings and monitor progress against schedules and deliverables.
• Support BIM development and maintain BBB BIM standards.
• Provide mentorship to junior and intermediate team members.
• Respond to RFIs and participate in site visits and meetings.
