Job summary

Harley-Ellis-Devereaux seeks a Project Architect IV to lead medium- to large-scale PreK–12 projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Senior role manages documentation, consultant coordination, regulatory reviews, and construction phase support with a proven PreK–12 delivery record.

The candidate will guide projects through DSA processes, sign/seal work as Architect of Record when assigned, and mentor teams while upholding design quality and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience leading medium- to large-scale PreK-12 educational projects.
• Strong understanding of DSA requirements, approvals, and construction administration.
• Ability to mentor teams and lead cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Proven ability to manage complex regulatory reviews with design quality.
• Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with Revizto and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and technical execution of PreK–12 projects.
• Develop and oversee construction documents aligned with codes and goals.
• Create and manage Disciplines Work Plan with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate across design disciplines, consultants, and production teams.
• Foster relationships with school districts and regulatory agencies.
• Lead AHJ interactions, including DSA review processes and approvals.
• Ensure documentation complies with DSA, CBC, and accessibility standards.
• Oversee construction administration activities and field coordination.
• Serve as Architect of Record when assigned and sign/seal work.
• Mentor emerging professionals and contribute to technical excellence.
