Job summary

HLW, a global architecture and design firm, seeks a Senior Project Architect for its Interiors Studio to lead technical development, coordination, and documentation from programming through construction administration. The role emphasizes Revit proficiency, project delivery expertise, and collaboration with consultants, contractors, and clients.

The senior architect will serve as a technical backbone, guiding teams, ensuring design intent, and mentoring staff while supporting studio-wide quality

Qualifications

• 11+ years of professional architectural experience
• Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
• Strong proficiency in Revit
• Experience with MS Office and project management platforms (Newforma or Procore preferred)
• Experience delivering interior projects in commercial/workplace environments
• Knowledge of NYC building codes, ADA, and construction practices
• Ability to manage complex schedules and budgets and multiple consultant relationships
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on projects through design and construction phases
• Develop drawing sets and construction documents aligned with client goals and HLW standards
• Collaborate with PMs, design leaders, and consultants to deliver integrated solutions
• Coordinate with MEP, lighting, and structural consultants
• Lead internal quality control and specification development
• Participate in risk assessment and address constructability and scope issues
• Represent HLW in client and consultant meetings; step in for PM as needed
• Assist with contract document reviews, permitting, and signing/sealing processes
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction administration
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure design intent and progress
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal standards and staff development
