Job summary

Jobtailor in San Francisco seeks a seasoned Technical Project Architect to lead client and team coordination, produce construction documents, and oversee the full design development lifecycle.

You will guide projects from concept through post-occupancy, review submittals and shop drawings, mentor junior staff, and maintain client relationships while ensuring code compliance.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant experience as a technical project architect.
  • Licensed or registered architect.
  • Mandatory Revit and AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3dMax, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, construction, and structures.
  • Ability to complete a full set of construction documents.
  • Unrestricted right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination.
  • Coordinate communication among project teams, clients, vendors, contractors, and consultants.
  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions for complex technical and design challenges.
  • Maintain project manuals and specifications.
  • Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews.
  • Process submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, and other construction-phase items.
  • Interface with building and permitting officials during permitting and construction.
  • Detail commercial construction for buildings and interiors.
  • Direct teams and organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
  • Manage contracts and negotiate project scope and fees.
  • Run the design development process and oversee drawing production through all phases.
  • Lead projects through the full lifecycle, including post-occupancy.
  • Coordinate consultants and contractors.
  • Manage construction administration, including manuals, specs, and reviews.
  • Collaborate with the general contractor toward issue resolution.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships.
  • Mentor the next generation of architects.

Requirements
  • 15+ years of relevant experience as a technical project architect
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Licensed or registered architect
  • Mandatory experience with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3dMax, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, construction, and building structures
  • Ability to complete a full set of construction documents
  • Understanding of building construction for accurate, descriptive technical documents
  • Ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new relationships
  • Effective oral and written communication with confidence and professionalism
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • LEED accreditation is a plus
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Unrestricted right to work in the United States
