Job description

N.K. Bhandari Architecture & Engineering, P.C. is looking for a bright, energetic and creative individual to join our team. Work Environment:

  • This position is fully remote! In-person team meetings may be required from time to time.
  • Approximately 10-20% travel is expected to various job sites and client locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the design and project teams on large, complex projects to satisfy the client’s project needs and requirements for project designs such as drawings, specifications, code requirements, cost estimates, and reports.
  • Mentor and develop Project Architects, Designers, and Drafters, and create an environment of continuous learning and challenge.
  • Make major design decisions (spatial, aesthetic, and detailing).
  • Oversee the preparation and check the accuracy of contract documents. Incorporate applicable codes, construction techniques and sequences in projects including all aspects of cross discipline coordination.
  • Manage performance of construction document reviews including coordination, quality assurance, and quality control.
  • Manage site observations and respond to problems/questions during design and construction.
  • Perform code reviews, prepare applications, follow projects through approvals and construction.
  • Serve as Senior Project Manager on various client assignments.
  • Plan, interpret, organize, schedule, and manage projects through all five phases while managing schedule, scope, roles and budget.
  • Ensure that the project conforms to contractual agreements with client.
  • Establish and effectively manage a project budget that results in profitability for the firm.
  • Manage project data such as measurements, counts, inventory, meeting minutes and gathered published information, and ensure that project data is archived.
  • Build relationships with clients (existing and prospective), sub-consultants, vendors and contractors and other professionals in their field of interest.
  • Seek opportunities to generate proposals that result in new business for the firm and contribute technical content to proposal responses as needed.
  • Prepare and conduct formal presentations.

Compensation: $100,000 to $130,000 per year depending on qualifications.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Senior-level registered architect with 10+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
  • Expertise in the five project phases: schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding and negotiation, construction administration
  • Working knowledge of CADD and BIM design software, preferably Autodesk Revit
  • Proficiency in professional and technical writing
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as Publishing software programs
  • Knowledge in Deltek Vision preferred
