FSMY Architects + Planners is a Fort Lauderdale-based firm designing high-rise condominiums, hotels, mixed-use developments, and residential projects throughout South Florida.
The Role
We're seeking a Senior Project Architect with 10-15 years of experience to lead the technical development of complex, large-scale projects from schematic design through construction administration.
Responsibilities
- Lead design development and construction document production for high-rise multifamily, hospitality, and mixed-use projects
- Manage and mentor project teams, setting production standards and reviewing drawings for quality, accuracy, and code compliance
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, landscape, and interior design consultants to deliver fully integrated documents
- Guide projects through permitting and approvals, including code analysis under the Florida Building Code, life safety, and accessibility requirements
- Support construction administration: RFIs, submittals, site visits, change orders, and punch lists
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, and contribute to schedules, budgets, and fee tracking
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- 10-15 years of professional experience, with a strong portfolio in high-rise multifamily, hospitality, and/or mixed-use work
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, including managing large, multi-user models and coordinating consultant models
- Deep knowledge of building systems, envelope design, and high-rise construction methods
- Working knowledge of the Florida Building Code
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate clearly with clients, consultants, and contractors
Preferred
- Licensed Architect (Florida registration preferred, or ability to obtain reciprocity)
- South Florida project experience, including familiarity with local jurisdictions and approval processes
- Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Enscape or similar visualization tools
