Job summary

Providence Engineering and Environmental Group LLC in Louisiana seeks a Project Archaeologist to work both in the office and in the field. You will join a team supporting the Principal Investigator and clients on a variety of cultural resources projects, including writing research plans, site forms, and reports, and conducting monitoring and surveys.

The position requires operating GPS units, artifact identification, and data input, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• MA/MS in Anthropology or Archaeology is required.
• Must meet Secretary of the Interior's professional qualifications standards for archaeology and be an RPA or eligible.
• Minimum 3 years of field experience; 5 years in LA or Lower Mississippi Valley preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning field projects, monitoring surveys, and data collection.
• Oversee field crew activities and laboratory cataloging of artifacts.
• Prepare portions of reports and site forms; ensure safety and quality standards.
