Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced Professional, Project Accounting to support project managers and teams with budgeting, cost control, and Oracle-based accounting on large projects in the United States.

The role requires 3–5 years in project accounting, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, strong Excel skills, and the ability to obtain a US government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline (or demonstrated proven equivalent experience).
• 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in accounting, project contracts and change management documents.
• Working knowledge of project accounting principles and methods and their application to project work-related issues.
• Proficiency with technical writing, office automation and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• For assigned project(s), manage and analyze the collection, recording, and allocating of project costs and revenue, ensuring accurate P&L and communicating financial performance to project management.
• Lifecycle project accounting from creating project accounts in Oracle to tracking budgets, invoicing, and project close-out.
• Prepare project financial reports and escalate items requiring review by Project Manager.
• Establish project budgets with Project Manager and update budgets as needed for contract modifications or changes.
• Ensure draft invoices align with contract requirements and obtain approvals.
• Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to maintain accurate project data.
