Job summary

DOWL is seeking an Accounting Specialist Lead in Anchorage to serve as a senior resource for the Project Accounting Team. The role includes workload coordination, staff training, and process improvements while handling client invoicing, cash receipts, and project reporting.

You will drive revenue recognition, maintain project setup and governance, and support audit activities. Strong organizational skills and experience in project accounting are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline required.
• 5-7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience; at least 5 years in project accounting preferred.
• Experience in an architecture/engineering/construction environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Project Accounting Team workload coordination and process improvements.
• Provide training to Project Managers and accounting staff on billing and project accounting practices.
• Research and resolve invoice inquiries and client requests with Project Managers.
• Manage monthly invoices and related reporting for the billing group.
• Assist with audit support documentation and respond to auditor requests.
