Job summary

DOWL is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm with over 60 years of civil engineering experience. The Accounting Specialist Lead oversees the Project Accounting Team, coordinating training, improving processes, and handling advanced project accounting tasks including invoicing, cash receipts, and reporting.

Based in Anchorage, AK, this role supports corporate operations and project functions; it requires strong accounting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including at least 5 years in project accounting.
• Experience in an architecture/engineering/construction environment, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical lead for Project Accounting Team.
• Coordinate and facilitate training for Project Accounting Team and Project Managers.
• Research and resolve invoice inquiries and client requests with Project Managers.
• Coordinate revenue generation and provide period-end project adjustments reports.
• Review and validate monthly project financial reports for revenue recognition and billing.
• Provide back-up support for Accounting Specialists and assist with audit documentation.
