Job summary

DOWL is seeking an Accounting Specialist Lead in Billings, MT to serve as a senior resource for the Project Accounting Team. You will coordinate workload, provide training, and drive process improvements while performing advanced project accounting tasks including client invoicing, cash receipts, and project reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in an A/E/C environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including at least 5 years in project accounting.
• Experience in an architecture/engineering/construction environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical lead and subject matter expert for Project Accounting Team.
• Coordinate and facilitate training for Project Accounting Team and Project Managers.
• Research and resolve invoice inquiries and special requests from clients and Project Managers.
• Coordinate project accounting activities with project managers, including project setup and maintenance.
• Review and validate monthly project financial reports for revenue recognition and client invoicing.
