Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced finance professional to manage day-to-day accounting operations for construction projects, ensuring GAAP compliance and timely reporting. You will partner with project teams to monitor financial health and enforce Turner financial policies.

Responsibilities include close activities, accounts payable/receivable oversight, billing, risk assessment, and collaboration with Shared Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 3 years of related experience.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, journal entries, and general ledger processes.
• Experience with AP/AR best practices and vendor/customer account management.
• Understand contract terms and construction billing requirements.
• Familiarity with WIP reporting and percentage of completion methods.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for project Finance accounting questions and escalated issues.
• Follow Turner Finance policies, workflows, approvals, and sign-off matrices.
• Mentor Accounting team on financial policies and system workflows.
• Provide training and support to accounting staff with established materials.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and respond to requests promptly.
• Collaborate with SSO on AR/AP activities and provide timely updates.
• Lead month-end close and ensure accurate expense recognition for owner invoicing.
• Manage project cash position, including over/under billing and profitability analysis.
• Audit client billing and project ledgers for contract compliance and GAAP alignment.
• Monitor WIP schedules and percentage of completion; analyze variances and report insights.
