Job summary

Hines is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to join our team in Chicago with responsibilities spanning GAAP financial reporting, treasury activities, and asset management support. You will collaborate with Controllers, Property/Project Managers, and Accountants to ensure accurate records and timely financial statements.

Required are a Bachelor's in Accounting and 3+ years in public or 4+ years in professional accounting, with CRE and public accounting experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA designation or plan to pursue CPA is preferred.
• Three years public accounting or four years professional accounting experience required.
• Commercial real estate experience strongly preferred.
• Public accounting experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with Controller, Property/Project Manager, and Accountants to ensure GAAP-compliant accounting and construction draws.
• Prepare funding requests to investors and lenders.
• Perform treasury duties including wire payments for distributions and debt service.
• Review AR aging and assess collectability; recommend write-offs/reserves.
• Record journal entries and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Prepare property/project fees, maintain fixed assets, and record amortization/depreciation.
• Assist with annual property budget and reconcile Argus model with budget/forecast.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

CPA designation (or intention to work toward CPA designation)
