Job summary

Synerfac Technical Staffing is seeking a Senior Project Accountant in the Dulles, VA area for a direct-hire, on-site role. You will work 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, coordinating with project managers to track budgets, process invoices, and deliver monthly project billings.

Requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 6+ years of project accounting in construction, with strong analytical and confidentiality skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
• 6+ years of Project Accounting experience in construction.
• Ability to analyze and resolve issues with confidentiality.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, prepares and analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements for more complex accounts.
• Monitors budgets and commitments, processing subcontractor and vendor invoices, preparing owner invoices drafts.
• Partners with the project manager to monitor overall job financial status.
• Attends progress and division meetings and prepares monthly reports with current estimates.
• Prepares special analyses as required and mentors less-experienced staff.
