Job summary

Synerfac Technical Staffing is seeking a Project Accountant for a direct-hire position in Dulles, VA. You will compile, analyze and manage monthly project billings, chase costs vs budgets, and perform accounts payable for projects.

Responsibilities include analyzing project profitability, maintaining budget data in COINs, ensuring vendor compliance, and supporting status reports. Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 3–5 years in construction accounting are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of project accounting experience in the construction industry.
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, prepares and analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Performs financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus project budget.
• Processes project accounts payable and subcontracts payable.
• Manages vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s.
• Produces and analyzes job performance and profitability through jobs cost tracking reports.
• Assists in preparation of status reports and maintains accurate project statuses and budget information in COINs.
• Identifies and resolves basic and more complex project-related accounting issues and resolves in a timely manner.
