Job summary

STN is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to own contract, revenue, and project accounting across our professional and managed services, and GPU One businesses. You will align billing, revenue recognition, and cost tracking with contract terms and budgets.

This hybrid role sits in Pleasanton, CA, reporting to the Finance Manager. You’ll work cross‑functionally to ensure accurate monthly closes, robust controls, and clear financial insights for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of progressive accounting experience, including project, contract, or revenue accounting in a services or technology business.
• Hands‑on experience with ASC 606 and multi‑element arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Review new and amended customer contracts for accounting and billing implications.
• Apply ASC 606 across multi‑element arrangements including recurring services and hardware resale.
• Own deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and contract backlog schedules; reconcile performance obligations.
• Own billing readiness controls and identify revenue leakage.
• Maintain project records in the ERP with budgets, terms, and revenue recognition methods.
• Own WIP schedules and calculate percentage‑of‑completion for fixed‑fee engagements; validate time‑and‑materials billing.
• Track costs to projects and phases; investigate mischarges.
• Produce monthly project margin, utilization, and recurring revenue reporting; assist close and audit.
