Job summary

RemX | The Workforce Experts partners with a growing real estate development and construction organization to hire a Senior Project Accountant in Chicago. You will own key accounting processes across the project lifecycle and collaborate closely with project teams, ownership, and lenders.

In this role you will manage construction draws, lender reporting, and invoicing, leveraging Sage 300 to support accurate financial control and timely project closures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction or real estate development accounting.
• Experience with owner draws and G702/G703 billing processes.
• Strong knowledge of construction project accounting and draw administration.
• Gained exposure to lender reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly construction draws and subcontractor payment applications.
• Prepare owner draw packages and lender disbursement requests.
• Monitor draw timelines and funding processes for timely submissions.
• Collaborate with development and project management teams.
• Review project invoices, lien waivers, and related docs.
• Support project accounting, reports, and ad-hoc projects.

We're partnering with a growing real estate development and construction organization seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join its team.

This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of development, construction, and finance, partnering closely with project teams while taking ownership of key accounting processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Overview

• Prepare monthly construction draws, including subcontractor payment applications and internal billings
• Prepare owner draw packages, lender disbursement requests, and supporting documentation
• Monitor draw timelines and funding processes to ensure timely submissions and collections
• Partner with Development and Project Management teams throughout the life of each project
• Support the processing and review of project invoices, lien waivers, and related documentation
• Assist with project accounting, reporting, and special projects as needed

Ideal Experience

• 5+ years of construction and/or real estate development accounting experience
• Experience with owner draws, lender reporting, and G702/G703 billing processes
• Strong understanding of construction project accounting and draw administration
• Sage 300 experience highly preferred
