Job summary

Phoenix Oversight Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant (Projects) to manage day-to-day project accounting, billing, and close processes for commercial and federal contracts. You will ensure accuracy of invoices, GL entries, reconciliations, and budgets in a fast-paced environment.

This mid- to senior-level role requires strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems such as Unanet or Deltek.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• At least five (5) years of progressive accounting experience in project-based accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control principles.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as QBO Online, Deltek Costpoint, or Unanet.
• Experience in FAR, CAS, and DCAA regulations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication and critical thinking skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Administer and update all commercial and federal contracts in Unanet GovCon ERP.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly project invoices to commercial and government customers.
• Post all commercial and government customer payments daily.
• Assist with monthly journal entries, accruals, and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Assist with income and expense account balances and variances, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules and serve as a point of contact during audits.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives, including automation of manual accounting tasks.
• Support state and local tax filings and compliance with external advisors.
