Straughan Environmental, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform full-cycle accounting, monthly closings, and project-based accounting. The role supports the Controller and collaborates with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 5+ years of experience, and GAAP knowledge; CPA or CPA candidate is a plus. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary in Columbia, MD.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional accounting experience.
• Experience in public accounting a plus.
• Familiarity with GAAP and government contracting (FAR) a plus.
• Experience with project-based accounting and Unanet GovCon.

Responsabilidades

• Month-end closing procedures and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly accrual schedules and reconcile accounts.
• Assist with external audits and overhead rate/workers' compensation audits.
• Maintain project setup in Unanet and generate monthly reports.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
• Provide financial statements and management reports.
