Job summary

ttg Talent Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Accountant for a well-established construction firm. This role emphasizes project-based accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, AIA billing, and construction financial reporting with an eye toward accurate cost tracking and revenue recognition.

You will partner with project managers and operations to monitor costs, prepare project-level financials, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with contracts and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting experience, preferably within construction.
• Strong experience with project-based accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, and cost-to-complete analysis.
• Knowledge of AIA billing, progress billing, and construction contract structures.
• Understanding of percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage or similar.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and financial reporting.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project costs, analyze spending trends, and improve margins.
• Prepare and review project-level financial reports, including WIP schedules, cost-to-complete analysis, variance reports, and profitability updates.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and project financial projections.
• Manage job cost accounting, revenue recognition, and percentage-of-completion reporting.
• Review AIA billing, progress billing, change orders, and construction contract documentation.
• Partner with project managers, procurement, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain and improve cost accounting processes, reporting tools, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and contract requirements.
• Support inventory-related reconciliations and cost accuracy as needed.
