Scorpio is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to lead project financial management from start-up through close-out, partnering with Project Managers and the Financial Management Team.

You will oversee accurate job costing, WIP accounting, progress billings, payroll reviews, and month-end close in a collaborative Florida construction environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role offers a path for strategic contribution to project outcomes and client value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, with 5+ years in job cost or project accounting.
• Understanding of WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems and construction payroll processes is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and data modeling abilities.
• Familiarity with project management software (Procore) is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Maintain, analyze, and reconcile job cost ledgers with accurate expense allocations.
• Monitor costs against estimates and budgets; report variances.
• Coordinate progress billings with project managers based on percentage-of-completion.
• Review subcontractor pay applications.
• Process or review project payroll with correct job costing allocations.
• Track labor burden and certified payroll reporting (where applicable).
• Suggest improvements to job costing processes and internal controls.
• Assist with month-end close and audits.
