Job summary

Talentify seeks a Senior Project Accountant for a 6-month on-site assignment in Boise, ID. The role supports capital and project accounting across a large retail organization, partnering with Construction, Real Estate, Procurement, Finance, and Operations to ensure accurate accounting for capital investments and asset management.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, fixed asset and capital project expertise, advanced Excel skills, and Oracle ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with capital and project accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
• Experience with capital projects, asset management, and month-end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and ERP experience (Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting analysis and oversight for capital projects, construction, remodels, and asset replacement initiatives.
• Evaluate expenditures and determine appropriate capital versus expense treatment.
• Manage fixed asset accounting activities including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairments, and retirements.
• Research and resolve complex accounting issues involving historical transactions and project costs.
• Support month-end close activities, audits, and internal controls for capital and fixed assets.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction, real estate, procurement, and finance leadership to provide accounting guidance.
• Review project documentation and advise on accounting treatment and financial impact.
• Drive timely resolution of accounting and project-related issues through effective communication.
