Job summary

FXCollaborative, a Brooklyn-based architecture and design firm, seeks a seasoned Project Accountant to oversee project accounting, billing, and financial reporting across multiple projects. You will manage time and expenses, revenue recognition, and subcontractor invoicing while coordinating with project managers.

The role requires 5+ years in project accounting within A/E industries, proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in all aspects of Project Accounting.
• Experience in Architecture, Interior Design and Engineering industries is required.
• Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint is required.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue monthly invoices for all projects, including complex agency projects.
• Manage billing requirements for complex contracts, including progress billing, retainage, and change orders.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition for each project.
• Track and allocate project costs, including labor and subconsultant fees.
• Record all cash receipts and notify relevant staff when payments are received.
• Manage accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
• Set up new projects with billing terms, budgets, and cost structures.
• Maintain and monitor project budgets throughout the lifecycle.
• Review and process subconsultant invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to review project financials and collections.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and project status updates.
