Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our fast-paced Accounting and Finance team. This permanent position is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to showcase their expertise in project accounting and financial management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of various projects, reconciling financial discrepancies, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.

Responsibilities

• 1. Oversee the financial aspects of assigned projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
• 2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for each project to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
• 3. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reconciling account discrepancies and ensuring all entries are accurately recorded.
• 4. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project budgets, monitor project costs, and identify potential financial risks.
• 5. Ensure compliance with HUD and other relevant regulatory requirements.
• 6. Provide timely and accurate financial information to management for decision making.
• 7. Maintain a thorough understanding of project contracts and terms to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
• 8. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial information and documentation.
• 9. Continuously improve project accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or CPA designation is preferred.
• 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting or a similar role in the Accounting and Finance industry.
• 3. Proven experience with ledger, GL, reconciling, project accounting, and HUD.
• 4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify financial discrepancies and solve complex financial problems.
• 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers and other stakeholders.
• 6. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• 7. Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
• 8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• 9. Strong organizational and planning skills, with a results-driven approach to work.
• 10. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.
