Job summary

CB Partners, LLC seeks an experienced project accounting professional to oversee financials for complex, multi-project engineering, construction, and architecture environments.

You will manage project billing, unbilled revenue, and WIP, partnering with Project Managers to drive accurate reporting and cash flow while mentoring the project accounting team.

Qualifications

• Progressive project accounting experience in engineering, construction, or architecture
• Strong knowledge of WIP, unbilled revenue, and revenue recognition
• Experience partnering with Project Managers on financial matters
• Experience overseeing project accounting processes and mentoring teams
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting activities across multiple projects from setup through completion
• Manage project billing, invoicing, unbilled revenue, and WIP reporting
• Partner with Project Managers to review project financial performance and resolve issues
• Monitor project revenue, costs, profitability, and financial reporting
• Support revenue recognition and month-end project accounting activities
• Identify billing discrepancies and opportunities to improve cash collection
• Review project financial information and investigate discrepancies
• Lead, mentor, and support project accounting team
• Maintain accurate project information in the accounting system
• Improve billing workflows, reporting processes, and controls
• Collaborate with leadership to align project accounting with financial goals

What You'll Own

• Oversee accounting activities across multiple projects from initial setup through completion
• Manage project billing, invoicing, unbilled revenue, and work in progress reporting
• Partner with Project Managers to review project financial performance and resolve accounting issues
• Monitor project revenue, costs, profitability, and financial reporting
• Support revenue recognition and month-end project accounting activities
• Identify billing discrepancies, outstanding receivables, and opportunities to improve cash collection
• Review project financial information and investigate discrepancies
• Lead, mentor, and support members of the project accounting team
• Maintain accurate project information within the accounting system
• Improve billing workflows, reporting processes, and accounting controls
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure project accounting supports operational and financial goals

The Background We\'re Looking For

Engineering, construction, architecture, or a closely related project-based industry background is strongly preferred.

We\'re especially interested in candidates who bring:

• Progressive experience in project accounting, preferably within an engineering, construction, or architecture firm
• Strong knowledge of WIP, unbilled revenue, project billing, and revenue recognition
• Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
• Direct experience partnering with Project Managers on financial matters
• Experience overseeing project accounting processes and reviewing the work of others
• Previous people management, team leadership, or mentoring experience
• Understanding of project setup, job costing, and project financial reporting
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with an ERP or project accounting system
• Experience with Deltek, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems is a plus
• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
