Sr. Project Accountant

Location: Dallas

Employment Type: Full time

The Opportunity

The Senior Project Accountant is responsible for performing trial balance analysis, maintaining accurate records, and reconciling designated general ledger accounts. This role also provides guidance and oversight to Staff Accountants. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant collaborates closely with members of the accounting team and cross‑functional departments to support accurate and timely financial reporting.

What you will do?
  • Prepare trial balance analyses for assigned entities.
  • Execute designated tasks as part of the monthly close process.
  • Prepare and maintain lease accounting in accordance with GAAP ASC 842 for operating and finance leases.
  • Perform and oversee reconciliations of intercompany balances.
  • Maintain and supervise fixed asset registers and related depreciation schedules.
  • Perform and supervise bank reconciliations.
  • Perform and oversee reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze income statement accounts as assigned.
  • Provide guidance and training to Staff Accountants on control account reconciliations and financial analysis.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP; working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and train junior accounting staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4–6 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment.
  • Preferred experience in large construction, engineering/architectural design‑build, data center build‑out organizations, or in start‑up and entrepreneurial environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA preferred but not required.
