Job summary

City of Miramar's Senior Center seeks a dedicated Program Assistant to help plan and deliver activities for seniors and the wider community. Under supervision of a Program Manager or designee, you will implement programs, assist staff, and help participants register for daily offerings.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year in community services, plus first aid/CPR, a Florida driver's license, and the ability to work indoors or outdoors with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1 year of community services programming experience.
• First aid and CPR certification or within 60 days of hire.
• Must have a valid Florida driver's license.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors; flexible schedule including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and leading senior center programs and community activities.
• Implement programs and activities under supervision of a full-time employee.
• Assist senior center staff with tasks needed to run programs.
• Assist seniors in registering for daily programs.
• Provide reception services and morning kitchen programs including refreshments and inventory.
• Report safety hazards, complete paperwork accurately, and interact with staff and the public.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
