Job summary

Senior Center in town is seeking a dedicated Program Assistant to help plan and run activities for seniors and the community. You will assist in registering participants, teach classes, and support staff under supervision.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of community services experience, CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain, a Florida driver’s license, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of community services programming experience.
• Must possess First Aid and CPR certification or obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
• Background screening required (may require Level II).
• Flexible schedule including nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead programs for seniors and the community under supervision.
• Assist senior center staff to institute successful programs.
• Assist seniors in registering for daily programs.
• Teach classes and operate programs.
• Report safety hazards to the supervisor and complete paperwork.
• Provide reception services to seniors and the community.
• Support morning kitchen programs, including refreshments and inventory.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living as needed.
• Interact with supervisor, coworkers, and the public.
