Job summary

Miami Jewish Health in Miramar, FL is seeking an Activities Assistant to provide group and one-to-one therapeutic recreation for program participants. The role supports activity planning, documentation, and attentive care for aging residents.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma (Associate’s degree preferred) and experience presenting activities to seniors, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma; Associate’s Degree preferred; Therapeutic Recreation training desirable.
• Experience: A minimum of one year experience presenting activities to an aging population desirable.
• Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Responsibilities

• Guides, directs, and monitors participants during group activities to assist in maintaining or surpassing his/her social, emotional, cognitive and physical levels of functioning
• Assists Director with activity planning as needed
• Maintains documentation in a neat and legible manner
• Deals appropriately with the special needs of participants and their families
