Job summary

Seattle Foundation seeks a Program Officer to advance community impact priorities by stewarding programs, relationships, and investments across issue areas. The role centers on engaging communities in Greater Seattle, developing narrative strategies, and supporting strategic partnerships that build power and belonging.

You will manage a multi-million-dollar portfolio, collaborate with the Impact team, and connect grantmaking with policy opportunities to drive lasting systems change.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of relevant experience in community-based work, program management, or related fields.
• Strong connection to communities in Greater Seattle or Washington state.
• Demonstrated interest in narrative storytelling and democracy strategies.
• Working knowledge of democracy, civic participation, grassroots organizing.
• Strong program and project management skills with budgets and timelines.
• Commitment to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-year portfolio of community programs and investments with strategy, budgets, timelines, partner relationships, and outcomes.
• Build authentic, reciprocal relationships with community organizations, grassroots leaders, and partners.
• Guide equitable review and due diligence for grants and investments.
• Facilitate community advisory groups and collaborative decision-making processes.
• Provide responsive partnership support and ensure access to resources for implementation.
• Monitor grants, learning, and compliance while maintaining transparency and accountability.
• Advance community-informed grantmaking, convening, and program practices with the Impact team.
• Represent Seattle Foundation at community gatherings, coalitions, and partnerships.
