The In-N-Out Burger Community Engagement team offers an excellent opportunity for a Senior Program Officer based in our Irvine, CA office.

This role reports to the Foundation Supervisor and supports In-N-Out Burger’s Slave 2 Nothing Foundation. The Senior Program Officer manages strategic grant-making, community engagement, assessing grantees, creating advocacy programs, and managing fund allocation to maximize impact and visibility.

The Slave 2 Nothing Foundation aims to educate and support nonprofits fighting human trafficking and substance abuse.

*This is a full-time, in-office position

Responsibilities

1. Assess potential grantees through thorough due diligence to ensure alignment with the Foundation's mission and standards.
2. Conduct site visits to build relationships and evaluate nonprofit programs.
3. Develop and implement advocacy and community awareness programs.
4. Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and Project Management teams for cohesive strategies.
5. Manage the grant review process, including due diligence and high-level recommendations.
6. Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations.
7. Contribute to strategic planning of events and initiatives aligned with Foundation goals.
8. Oversee the responsible management of Foundation funds to ensure maximum impact.

Pay Range: $77,000 - $90,000. Compensation will consider experience and other factors.

Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Irvine, CA. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

Travel: Approximately 20-50% of work time, including out-of-state travel.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Public Administration, or related; Master’s or MBA preferred.
2. Certification in Grant Management, Grant Writing, Project Management, or related fields highly desirable.
3. At least 6 years of nonprofit management experience focusing on grant-making or related areas.
4. Proven skills in strategic planning, relationship building, and advocacy.
5. Experience in substance abuse recovery services is a strong plus.
6. Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
7. Highly organized with strong time and resource management skills.
8. Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
9. High emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills.
10. Proficiency with CRM systems, project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello), and Microsoft Office.
11. Knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis tools.

Note: In-N-Out Burger plans to consolidate its West Coast headquarters in Baldwin Park by 2029, with relocation assistance available for new hires in Irvine who choose to move or work from Baldwin Park upon its opening.
