Job summary

YouthBuild Lakeland is a full-time six-month program where young adults who are 18-24 years of age work to improve their lives in a variety of ways. While in the program, participants receive classroom instruction to prepare for the GED exam and engage in personal development, job placement, leadership development, and community service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, Psychology, or related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred; 5-7 years’ experience with children in an educational setting.
• Bi-lingual a plus (Spanish).
• Must possess or obtain a valid first aid/CPR card.
• Ability to lead and develop staff and coordinate program activities.
• Knowledge of human service, health, court and criminal justice systems’ programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate, and oversee the daily operations of the YouthBuild Lakeland program.
• Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising staff as well as the recruitment and selection of program trainees.
• Provide ongoing leadership, teamwork, and career development training to create positive change consistent with program objectives.
• Conduct needs based assessments toward the creation of a comprehensive program curriculum for the development of trainees.
• Manage budgets, write grants, develop partnerships in the community, and ensure full compliance with all grant policies and regulations.
