Job summary

Umbra, an American space technology company, is seeking a Program Manager to deliver superior products and solutions across cost, schedule, and technical performance. You will coordinate scope, budgets, and timelines with the product team and stakeholders.

You will drive Agile practices, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and lead capture efforts for strategic campaigns. This on-site role is based in our Arlington, VA or Reston, VA offices with frequent collaboration across government customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, or related STEM or business field.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including 3+ years of program management experience supporting U.S. Government contracts or programs within the aerospace and defense industry.
• Experience working in a cleared environment within the past two years.
• Demonstrated ability to manage technical development and/or R&D programs, including coordination of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of product and technology development lifecycles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams, customers, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Program Execution: Take complete responsibility for successful implementation (cost, schedule, and technical aspects) of several contracts and deliver monthly status updates.
• Processes: Mature Umbra's Program Excellence Framework and tailor procedures for financial management, risk, obligations, and performance monitoring.
• Agile Development: Serve as Business Owner for technologies; collaborate with product management and system architects; participate in PI planning.
• Growth and Strategy: Lead capture, develop winning proposals, and drive growth for contracts; advocate for customer needs in roadmaps.
• All other duties as assigned.
