Job summary

Core & Main is seeking a Sr Program Manager to oversee high-level strategy, budgets, and cross-team coordination for Smart Utility projects, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and long-term business goals.

The role may involve leading a team of second-tier program managers, negotiating major contracts, and interfacing with municipal stakeholders, OEMs, vendors, and internal groups to deliver complex initiatives on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Public Administration, Project Management, Utility Management, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred (MBA, Engineering Management, Public Administration, or related discipline).
• PMP, PgMP, CCM, PE, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
• Experience leading large, complex public-sector programs with multiple stakeholders and subcontractors is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, change management and executive communication skills.
• Ability to establish customer confidence and navigate high-visibility programs with executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Connect daily work to company goals and establish Governance Plan at project launch.
• Project Coordination: Interface between external customers and internal cross-functional teams.
• Resource and Budget Control: Manage funds and develop tools for project delivery.
• Risk Management: Address big problems and align processes for customer satisfaction.
• Administrative Interface: Lead conflict resolution and change management to meet goals.
