Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX seeks an experienced product engineering leader to drive end-to-end product cost attainment from concept to ramp. This role reports to executive leadership and partners with BU/SET to bring best-in-class products to market.

You will own cost estimation, drive cross-functional cost improvement initiatives, and guide the NPI phase with engineering, operations, and sourcing teams to align objectives and optimize margins.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven experience in Product engineering and Program management of complex SOCs or foundry technologies.
• Experience managing large, complex and high-impact engineering/projects.
• Experience with diverse matrix organizations and virtual teams.
• Exposure to process technology, SOC or substrate design and manufacturing.
• Experience with program management tools and processes.
• Proven communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Forecast cost entitlement in all phases of product life cycle.
• Manage product cost stakeholder reviews to align inputs.
• Own input sanity, estimation process, cost reviews and modeling requirements.
• Identify and drive cost improvement projects via cross-functional teams.
• Interact with BU/SET’s on cost estimation, forecasting, and options.
• Organize product phase-gate reviews through NPI.
• Represent Sourcing and engineering Ops to influence DFC.
• Align SEO functions to attain best-in-class product execution, cost, and margin.
• Replicate and share best practices across BUs and products.
