Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is seeking a Senior Program Manager to oversee multiple technical projects in the Norfolk, VA area and beyond. The role emphasizes managing budgets, schedules, and contract performance while ensuring QMS compliance.

The successful candidate will mentor junior PMs, coordinate with the Contracting Officer and COR, and travel ~25% for site visits and meetings. A Secret clearance and PMP are preferred.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
• 10+ years in project management; 5+ years in federal contracting.
• Demonstrated financial management experience: budgeting, cost control, and billing.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational, financial, administrative, and contractual support for land-based and shipboard projects.
• Direct achievement of program goals, monitor progress, and report results.
• Mentor junior PMs and oversee external vendors or consultants.
