Job summary

10x Genomics in Pleasanton seeks an experienced Program Manager to lead cross-functional product development efforts. You will coordinate biologists, engineers, chemists, and computational scientists to define scope, schedule, and budget while delivering scientific and business results.

You will leverage AI tools like Claude, Gemini, and Asana AI, manage risks, communicate progress to all stakeholders, and champion best practices for AI-assisted program management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, chemistry, biology, or related life science or biomedical engineering field.
• 5+ years in new product or technology development at a Life Sciences company with 2+ years as lead program manager.
• Ability to manage programs spanning early exploratory research to late-stage development and tolerate ambiguity early, rigor late.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders to build shared plans and drive alignment.
• Adoption of AI tools (Claude or AI-integrated platforms like Asana) as part of daily work.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics across levels of the organization.
• Strong grasp of technical project management techniques for scheduling and costs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Program Manager on 10x R&D teams across new product development and introduction programs, leading cross-functional teams to define scope, schedule, and budget to deliver results.
• Partner with technical leads to establish and manage program priorities, risks, resources, and schedules — adjusting as the science and development landscape evolves.
• Drive and track day‑to‑day program work, ensuring problems are identified and resolved using modern program management tools and techniques.
• Lead program communications and phase approval reviews, providing updates to all levels of the team and stakeholders.
• Actively leverage AI tools to accelerate program planning and synthesize complex information.
• Assess and improve Program Management workflows and communication processes.
• Note: this is not an IT or SW project management position.
