Job summary

10x Genomics in Pleasanton is seeking an outstanding Program Manager for the R&D team. You will join cross-functional groups of biologists, chemists, engineers, and software experts to drive new products from concept through introduction, ensuring scope, risk, and resources align with scientific and business goals.

You will lead communication across stakeholders, manage priorities with technical leads, and champion AI-assisted planning to accelerate programs while maintaining rigor in late-stage

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, chemistry, biology, or related life science or biomedical engineering field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in new product or technology development at a Life Sciences company, with a successful track record (2+ years) as the lead program manager.
• Experience leading programs spanning early exploratory research to late-stage development; comfortable with ambiguity early and rigor late.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with biologists, engineers, chemists, computational scientists to build shared plans and drive alignment.
• Demonstrated adoption of AI tools (Claude, Asana AI, or equivalents) in day-to-day program management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Program Manager on cross-functional R&D teams to define scope, schedule, and budget for new products.
• Collaborate with technical leads to manage priorities, risks, resources, and timelines as development evolves.
• Drive day-to-day program work and resolve issues using modern PM tools and techniques.
• Lead program communications and phase reviews, delivering updates to diverse audiences.
• Actively leverage AI tools to accelerate planning and synthesize complex information for best practices.
• Ensure program workflows and communication processes are efficient and consistent.
• Note: this is not an IT or SW PM position.
• Communicate complex topics clearly across the organization.
• Manage schedules and costs using established project management techniques.
