This role will lead end-to-end planning and execution for key internal programs including Sales Kickoff, the Anniversary Program, Summer Outing, and other internal corporate events, while driving cross-functional alignment, measurement, process improvement, and operational excellence across the portfolio.

MathWorks nurtures growth, appreciates inclusivity, encourages initiative, values teamwork, shares success, and rewards excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end program management of major internal corporate events from strategy and planning through execution and post-event evaluation.
  • Own a portfolio of internal events, including Sales Kickoff, the Anniversary Program, Summer Outing, and other high-impact employee events.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across leadership, Sales Enablement, HR, Sales, Service, Marketing, Communications, Operations, IT, and other internal teams to define business goals, align program priorities, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans, planning timelines, milestone trackers, and governance processes to keep complex programs on track and proactively address risks, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Drive program schedule and stakeholder alignment across planning teams, ensuring clarity on objectives, roles, responsibilities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Manage internal and external agency resources to produce event logistics at scale, including venue coordination, housing, transportation, food and beverage, audiovisual, registration, communications, staffing, vendor management, and onsite operations.
  • Oversee programs that require complex attendee movement, resort or hotel coordination, accommodations planning, communications, FAQs, volunteer coordination, and transportation logistics, as reflected in programs such as Summer Outing and Anniversary planning.
  • Establish KPI’s and ensure programs are designed to deliver measurable business and engagement outcomes by defining success metrics, embedding measurement into program design, and using data and feedback to inform decisions.
  • Develop and execute post-event evaluations, including attendee feedback, stakeholder debriefs, performance analysis, and recommendations that raise the bar for future programs.
  • Challenge historical ways of working by auditing workflows, identifying opportunities for standardization and efficiency, and implementing improved processes, tools, and operating models.
  • Apply strong financial stewardship by managing event budgets, negotiating with vendors, tracking expenditures, and balancing attendee experience with cost discipline.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams and external partners, fostering accountability, collaboration, and clear communication throughout the planning lifecycle.
  • Stay current on event industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and bring forward new ideas that improve program strategy, efficiency, and experience design.
  • Leverage AI and other emerging tools to streamline planning processes, improve team efficiency, and enhance the quality and consistency of program delivery. This aligns with the prior SKO role’s focus on identifying at least two process efficiencies through AI.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.
Additional Qualifications
  • 6+ years of professional event management experience, including ownership of complex, large-scale corporate events or multi-stakeholder programs.
  • Proven event program and project management skills, with the ability to lead large initiatives from concept through execution and follow-up.
  • Strong ability to translate business objectives into event strategies, attendee experiences, and actionable project plans.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Experience developing measurement strategies and using data and feedback to drive program improvements.
  • Experience managing event budgets, vendors, and operational logistics.
  • Experience with event and project management systems, and comfort adopting new technologies and AI that improves execution and efficiency.
  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems proactively, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
