Job description

Job Type: Long-term, indefinite contract

Compensation: $40–$55 per hour (depending on experience)

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing people together, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and transforming ideas into well-executed programs and experiences. You will partner closely with engineering business leaders to coordinate everything from large-scale onboarding programs and town halls to networking events, professional development sessions, and employee community initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate large-scale engineering programs, including summer onboarding, offsites, town halls, training sessions, and networking events
  • Manage event logistics from concept through execution, including venue sourcing, vendor coordination, contracting, catering, materials, attendee communications, and day-of support
  • Support a high volume of professional networking and community-building events, including leadership roundtables, alumni celebrations, affinity events, happy hours, and meetups
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, participant rosters, mentor tracking, engagement reporting, and internal documentation
  • Manage program communications, including invitations, onboarding materials, newsletters, presentations, event collateral, and internal resource pages
  • Coordinate swag programs for new hires, seasonal initiatives, events, and alumni communities
  • Manage shared inboxes, calendars, distribution lists, collaboration channels, expenses, and program documentation
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across engineering, business operations, learning and development, and employee engagement
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, introduce automation, and use AI tools to work more efficiently
  • Independently manage multiple concurrent events and projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Approximately two years of experience in event coordination, program coordination, learning and development, campus recruiting, professional services, or a related field
  • Experience simultaneously coordinating multiple events, programs, or projects
  • Professional experience within a fast-paced corporate or professional-services environment strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication and proofreading abilities
  • Confidence working independently and taking ownership without extensive oversight
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, filtering, sorting, and managing participant data
  • Comfort using tools such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Planner, Slack, event-management platforms, and AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week in New York City

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will bring a combination of polish, initiative, creativity, and genuine enthusiasm for creating engaging experiences. You should be someone who notices what needs to be done, solves problems without waiting for detailed instructions, and brings positive, “camp counselor” energy to programs and events.

Formal corporate event experience is valuable, but candidates may also draw from meaningful leadership experience coordinating multiple events through campus organizations, student government, social organizations, or other community groups.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious early-career professional who wants to take meaningful ownership and help build programs that strengthen onboarding, learning, retention, and community across a world-class engineering organization.
