Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is launching an ambitious AI in Health initiative, a collaboration between CAI and SMPH. We seek a Senior Project Manager to turn vision into an operating program, shaping strategy, convening faculty, clinicians, students, and industry partners, and guiding initial staff hires that will drive teaching and research in AI and health.

You will define goals and roadmaps, lead meetings and workshops, coordinate hiring, manage budgets and risks, and report progress

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience planning, launching, and managing large, multi-stakeholder initiatives or programs.
• Experience leading cross-unit or cross-organizational initiatives from concept through implementation.
• Ability to translate high-level goals into concrete action plans and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience coordinating hiring, recruitment, or team-building in a large organization.
• Excellent written and oral communication for executive audiences.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across cultures.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategic vision and multi-year roadmap for the AI in Health initiative across CAI and SMPH, translating it into actionable work plans and milestones.
• Plan and lead regular meetings, working groups, and seminars with campus partners and external stakeholders.
• Build the team, coordinate hiring and onboarding, and secure approvals for staff positions.
• Establish operating rhythm, track progress, manage risks and budgets to keep commitments on schedule.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for leadership and stakeholders.
