OVERVIEW

Veeco is transferring existing Advanced Packaging Lithography and Laser Annealing products to contract manufacturing partners in Asia for reliable volume production. This position will report to Vice President, Supply Chain in a full-time role requiring significant international engagement during the first 6–12 months to support new contract manufacturing partnerships in Asia. 25%–50% global travel

As Senior Program Manager, Contract Manufacturing Operations, you will lead this high-complexity transfer from integrated planning through manufacturing readiness, aligning suppliers and Veeco teams on schedule, quality, cost, and production objectives. Your work will strengthen the scale and execution behind technologies Veeco uses in advanced semiconductor fabrication and packaging. During this 6–12 month rotational assignment, you will establish the operating rhythm, controls, and supplier capability required for a successful ramp; after the assignment, you are expected to move into a broader Operations role supporting Manufacturing or Supply Chain, based on business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the end-to-end transfer of existing Advanced Packaging Lithography and Laser Annealing products to contract manufacturers in Asia, delivering production readiness against agreed schedule, quality, cost, and capacity objectives.

  • Build and maintain the integrated program plan, critical path, decision log, risk register, and mitigation actions that keep supplier and Veeco workstreams aligned.

  • Lead cross-functional execution across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and supplier teams, resolving system-level issues and clarifying ownership.

  • Direct supplier training, early learning builds, and production-readiness reviews at supplier and Veeco locations worldwide, converting build results into closure plans and repeatable processes.

  • Provide executive-level reporting on schedule, technical status, cost, resource needs, and risks, with clear decisions and recovery actions.

  • Deliver operational-excellence and cost-reduction initiatives that improve manufacturability, throughput, quality, and total cost while protecting product performance.

  • Establish durable governance, metrics, and escalation paths that enable contract manufacturing partners to sustain volume production after transfer completion.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • At least 8 years of related experience leading engineering, manufacturing, or product-transfer programs for semiconductor equipment, vacuum systems, or similarly complex capital equipment.

  • Experience leading multiple concurrent programs that involve cross-functional teams, external suppliers, and executive stakeholders.

  • Experience managing new product introduction or product-transfer work through manufacturing readiness and production ramp.

  • Ability to travel globally 25%–50% during the 6–12 month rotational assignment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of Advanced Packaging Lithography and/or Laser Annealing equipment, or the ability to apply experience from comparable electro-mechanical and automated capital equipment.

  • Expertise in integrated scheduling, critical-path management, risk management, budget control, resource planning, and executive reporting.

  • Skilled at diagnosing system-level manufacturing issues and aligning engineering, operations, quality, and supplier teams on practical corrective actions.

  • Knowledge of new product introduction, new product development, product lifecycle management, configuration control, and manufacturing-readiness practices.

  • Ability to distill complex technical, schedule, and cost information into clear decisions and concise updates for executives and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Smartsheet, enterprise resource planning and material requirements planning systems, and product lifecycle management tools; experience with SAP is preferred.
