OVERVIEW
Build the Supply Chain Behind What’s Next

Turn supply chain execution into a competitive advantage. As Supply Chain Manager, you will lead the team that turns demand into execution, driving the material readiness, planning discipline, and supply chain performance required to keep complex capital equipment manufacturing moving.

This is a hands-on leadership role with direct impact on production performance and business growth. You will strengthen supplier execution, inventory and cost control, master scheduling, shortage recovery, and MRP discipline while partnering across Operations, Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, and global supply chain teams.

You will also drive improvements in obsolescence management, supplier onboarding, business processes, team capability, and supply risk mitigation to help scale the advanced technologies Veeco brings to market.

RESPONSIBILITIES
People Leadership & Supply Chain Operations
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 Buyers, 4 Planners, and 1 Master Scheduler, establishing clear priorities, accountability, performance expectations, and development plans.
  • Direct site-level procurement, material planning, inventory control, and master scheduling to align supply with demand and protect production commitments.
  • Drive material availability through disciplined MRP execution, shortage management, inventory optimization, and timely escalation of constraints.
  • Establish an effective operating cadence across purchasing, planning, scheduling, shortages, and material readiness to support changing production priorities.
Supplier Performance, Onboarding & Supply Risk
  • Manage supplier execution against quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and responsiveness expectations, driving recovery actions when performance threatens production.
  • Lead supplier onboarding and operational readiness, including qualification coordination, risk assessment, change management, and integration into site processes.
  • Own site-level obsolescence and material lifecycle execution, partnering with Engineering, Sourcing, and Operations to identify exposure and implement mitigation plans.
  • Assess supply risks and drive appropriate contingency, dual-source, supplier recovery, and lifecycle strategies based on business and production impact.
Operational Excellence, Governance & Compliance
  • Apply lean and structured problem-solving practices to improve material flow, planning effectiveness, cycle time, inventory, cost, and execution discipline.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for material availability, inventory, schedule attainment, supplier performance, and process health, translating gaps into corrective actions.
  • Implement and reinforce supply chain policies, procedures, controls, and standard work across procurement, planning, inventory, and supplier management.
  • Promote compliance and team capability through effective processes, documentation, coaching, cross-training, and training on supply chain best practices and applicable quality requirements, including ISO 9001.
Cross-Functional Execution & Business Growth
  • Partner with R&D, Product Engineering, Operations, Quality, Strategic Sourcing, and global supply chain teams to align material strategies with engineering changes, production priorities, and new-product ramps.
  • Lead cross-functional resolution of material and supplier escalations, ensuring clear ownership, recovery plans, decisions, and communication of business impact.
  • Coordinate material flow from suppliers through manufacturing and shipment, partnering with logistics, import/export, distribution, and global teams as required.
  • Support business growth and next-generation photonics and AR technologies by strengthening supplier readiness, planning discipline, material execution, and supply chain scalability.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lean mindset with structured problem-solving and continuous-improvement capability.
  • Strong operational judgment with the ability to balance service, inventory, cost, risk, and schedule trade-offs.
  • Effective KPI management and data-driven decision making using ERP/MRP and business systems.
