Job summary

Friends of the Children Austin is seeking a Deputy Program Director to lead the program in partnership with the Program Director during a transition year, advancing youth outcomes and program excellence. This full-time, exempt role requires strong leadership, collaboration with schools and families, and supervising staff, managing priorities, and supporting strategic planning.

Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, you will help ensure program fidelity, coordinate training, and nurture

Qualifications

  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate degree or seven years of professional social work experience preferred.
  • Seven to ten years’ experience in child-related programs.
  • Three to five years in a leadership or management role with a track record of improvements in organizational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor Program team; supervise annual performance appraisals.
  • Oversee staff and ensure resources for youth; ensure program fidelity.
  • Coordinate with schools, families, and community partners.
  • Participate in senior management discussions and report to Executive Director.
