Job summary

HURC seeks a Program Director, Hospital Coding & Billing to lead strategic and operational efforts across inpatient and outpatient coding, billing, CDI, denials, and revenue integrity for its healthcare clients.

You will collaborate with CDI, coding, utilization review, and analytics teams to implement scalable improvements, drive better reimbursement, and enhance financial outcomes. Strong leadership, client management, and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HIM/related field required or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years progressive hospital coding, billing, HIM, revenue cycle, or healthcare ops.
• 3+ years leadership or program management experience.
• Strong inpatient/outpatient coding knowledge and payer requirements.
• Experience with Epic or major EHR platforms; healthcare analytics tools helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for hospital coding and billing programs.
• Lead client-facing engagements, executive presentations, and performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve coding accuracy, reimbursement, and denials management.
• Develop scalable processes and best practices across multiple clients.
• Oversee quality, compliance, audits, and revenue integrity efforts.
